        • Karl thank you.

Mike yup we've got steam and hot metal fresh out of the furnace ready to go.

Jerry thank you for the nice comment; much appreciated.

          • Nice work Larry.

Weathering and layout of all the equipment, pipes, etc looks very good.

            • The hammer room looks like one hot and uncomfortable place to work. Excellent.

              • Rick thank you for the nice compliment. I'm almost going to hate seeing it done.

Michael thank you. The Hammer Crew are asking for more money due to the uncomfortable working conditions; we'll see.

                • Larry, great looking addition. Love all the details!

I'm about to start on a 2-stall engine house that will have a wooden floor. I can only hope that I can achieve something close to the color you have on the floor in that hammer room.

                  • Larry,

Bang up job! Like the hot piece of metal! You can feel the heat, noise, and smells just looking at it.

                    • Bruce thank you for the nice compliment, much appreciated. The floor was stained with a maple stain then went over it with a charcoal weathering stick applied heavily which was then blended in with my finger. Hope this helps. Good luck on the engine house.

Scott thank you. I thought that the hot metal would give the Furnace purpose as opposed to just sitting there. Glad you like it.

                      • The Hammer Room I'm calling done:

Finished up the Hammer Room with a couple of signs over the door going into the main Shop. Also glued the furnace in place as well and added some more rust behind the boiler. The photo shows the nice details on the boiler from Crow River.

This was taken looking into the front of JD's and through the door into the Hammer Room; you can feel the heat coming out of the Forge Furnace and from the hot metal sitting on the door.

Next I'll be working on a couple more detail pieces for the Main Shop. When I get a nice sunny day I'm going to take the building outside and try to get some nice photos of the finished product.

That's it for now. Any comments/suggestions welcome.

                        • Congratulations!

You should be real proud of this model.

All the pictures are good but I really like that first picture.
