Been looking at the steam pipes lately coming from the boiler and decided they looked too black so I went over them with a wash of raw sienna. Now they blend in the rest of the Shop better.
I very, very carefully took apart the pulley line and was able to get an idler pulley on for each machine. I actually was able to get the belted pulley from the drill press off and back on without hurting the belt; that was a nail-biter. Grease spots and grime was added underneath both pulleys on the steam engine. Lastly the belt was attached for the steam engine which was quite tricky. Both of the belted pulleys were then lined up straight and glued to the shaft line.
Next the last two machines will be glued in place; inside of the black areas on the front of the Shop. Then the last two belts will be added. I may also try to scratch build some belt shifters and attach them to the support beam.
That's it for now. Any comments or ideas are appreciated.

I like the looks of those belts, nice and tight. I've seen to many pictures of modelers who have belts that looks like they are way to big to even function.

The belts are all done and glued in to place. The milling machine had the table given a coat of light oil with some wood ash applied over that. The excess was wiped off leaving the ash in the grooves. Also actual metal shavings, from working on the machines, was glued to the end of the table as well as the pedestal of the machine and floor in front. The area around the machine was weathered with chalks. The lathe received the same metal shavings routine along with the floor around it. I have to say that I'm very happy with the way this is turning out.
Next I'm going to try and make some belt shifters at least for the regular pulleys; not sure if I can do the cone pulleys or not. The flat car, in the back of the shop, is a scale 12x6 ft and will be used to bring materials in and out of the shop. Makes for a full shop.
That's the project so far. Comments and/or ideas are appreciated.
