  • Bob,

Your roofing job is looking great! I think you have pulled of the foreshortening well. Like the gallery window.

      • Bob, the roof should come up really well.

Lots of different angles, but they should all mix well together.

I really like the round porch area. Always such a nice feature of this style of home.
        Regards Rob

Despite the cost of living, it's still popular

        My current build.

        • Greg, Scott, Ted, and Rob, thanks for your comments, they are much appreciated.

My sins come back to haunt me, by decreasing the front to back measurements as I have

stated the roofs you see long right to left, are in fact much steeper that the original.

That is not noticeable except when fitting such things as the cupola. It makes it seem

much longer up an down to meet the angle of the steeper roof. I don't like it and I have

removed it since I took that photo. I am redoing it somewhat. Still working on the

details under that window roof end too.

          • Bob,

You're the artist making the creation so in your eyes the roof needs rework and so you must. I see a beautiful building that I view in amazement!

              • Dave and Carl, thanks for posting. I do appreciate it.

I took a break from making details to start the shingling, still have a long way to go.

They look black in the photo but they are actually gray. I wanted a lighter gray but

with shopping cut back by the virus and I had a stack of this gray card on hand, so be it.

I did cut the cupola down and I like it much more now.

I need a few more details under that one roof end, complete the shingling, and make a

chimney, and finish the decorations and it looks like I will finish this model before

                Christmas!!

                • Bob, the reworked cupola looks perfect now, and the new grey shingles on the areas that you have completed look excellent.

                    • Bob,

I can use a new roof on my garage, when are you available?

Seriously though, the roof is coming along nicely.

I've had help with that roof and we have a long way to go.

                        • The roofer is still working and will be for quite some time to come. I forgot to mention

that I finished the detail on that roof gable end.

I used the flash to light up this shot but I do not like to do that. It's been really dreary for days.

Charly and Larry are discussing the work still to be done. While I did not plan to

include any lighting I have been thinking about it lately.

                            Looks good, Bob!

                            • Bob, I hope you do add some lighting, your porch would look even more beautiful lit up at night.

You should put some hammers in Larry & Charly's hands so they at least appear like they might be helping out.

Nothing worse than 2 guys watching someone work.

                              • Bob, I'm liking how the roof has come out. You're nearly there.

And that look right. 2 discussing the work, while ones doing all the work.

Definitely do the lighting. Always a nice effect on a model.
