  • Nye, Inyo -and- Esmeralda Railroad

    A long time ago...

Almost four years ago I took a very different direction. Inspired by what a few others had done I started modeling in 1/35 scale using 16.5mm gauge track (HO scale) that equates to two-foot gauge.

Since this was to be outside I also went with BPRC (battery power remote control).

This little 26" by 28" layout was just the beginning of a layout that still continues to grow.

Michael, you can NOT use anything other than letters, numbers, dashes or underscores in a filename here. Your attachment breaks that rule, so we can't see it.

My first attempt at a remote control loco. Actually it kind of worked pretty good for awhile. The board eventually fried.

          Bridge over Titus Canyon Wash.

This portion was removed when the layout was relocated.

Back then this area looked much cleaner than it does today with an outhouse and associated junk strewn about.

The station was eventually removed as I felt it made the area look too built up.

Very nice, Michael. Is that hand laid track?

That was Peco On30 track buried in ballast and dirt. The rest of the layout (photos coming) is all hand laid.
