Any suggestions on a simplistic movie editing software for a PC computer for basic editing of video clips?

I have an older, Ver 8, version of Adobe Premier Elements that I’ve looked at, it’s on my main PC right now. I also have had frequent offers from Corel for their product, most recently $50 on sale.

No plans to try and rival Ray Dunakin’s marvelous work, what a treat his work is, but I’d like to be at least tie together some clips and photos.

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

Karl, I use 'Filmora' by Wondershare. The 'basic' version is easy to use. They'll want to sell you a package with a load of bells and whistles. Unnecessary! The basic package outputs to .MP4, PC video .mov, to youtube, etc. I thought it looked a lot like Adobe Premier, but a lot cheaper.

Karl, I have used Open Shot Video Editor. Plenty of YouTube Videos showing how to use it.

Well, almost a year to the date later. Here is a short segment from my DJI Air 2s drone edited with Adobe Premiere Elements 2021 https://youtu.be/KTCpWvhSiYA

Thanks for all the suggestions, with all that has transpired in the last year, I must shamefully admit I'd forgot all about this thread.

This was taken early morning, Sept. 29, at our place in da yoop by the cedar swamp aka Northern Command.

Can't see the video. It's marked private. Even signing into U-tube it says it's private. ?

It's working. Great video. You forgot to capture yourself in the end.

                      Nice videos, Karl.
What editor are you using? Still Adobe?

I use DaVinci Resolve for making videos. It's very powerful. I use the free version. It has a learning curve, but you can pick up the basics in just a couple hours. Lots of tutorials for it on YouTube, and on-line help is pretty good, too. It has enough power to let you do some pretty impressive effects, if you decide to go that direction.

You're right that making videos is work. After over three years of making videos about my layout (mostly) I've gotten it down to 20-30 minutes of work per minute of finished video. Some, with a lot of graphic effects, take substantially longer. Really simple ones take maybe 10 minutes per minute of video. That includes writing and recording the narration, adding background music, filming the intro and then putting it all together.

Some folks are much faster at it than I am.

Hi Brunton, sorry for the delay in answering.

Yes I do use Adobe, Premiere Elements 2021. It's become frustrating. I spent all day Thursday, off and on, working on a maybe 2 minute clip only to have the program crash and eat it all up.

I might look into the program you mentioned or one of those others mentioned. I've used Photoshop Elements in various iterations for years. Video, Premiere Elements, not so much. My graphics designer daughter used the subscription Adobe system on a Mac all the time. She has a multi million dollar budget doing online ads for the Michigan Lottery, I'm sure she can't share her pass word.

Thanks for the comment. KS 11-5
