          • ​​ Sorry it's taken so long to update this thread. I figure I should show what I have accomplished in the past few months. I painted the hardshell and started to figure out the sawmill spur. You might notice that the sawmill pictured is not from my previous layout. I did try to the original one work but the structure was too big and was overpowering the scene. This one is from KMP models. It came from a friend's layout who had passed away earlier in the year. I thought it would be a fitting tribute to him to have it get a second life on my new layout.

            I also started to ballast the mainline and layout some of the buildings for the town of meadows. I decided to go with WS grey blend ballast in fine grade on the mainline, I'll probably go with a brown on the yards and branches.
            Finally I glued the retaining walls in place and was working on the tunnel portal when I got a bit sidetracked on another project.
