  • Kyle,

I like what you are describing in the bottom paragraph. I think the diagonal siding is more interesting by the way it divides up the new area. I also like the rock formation idea and how it will separate the scene.

    • Works for me. Since there is not much I can see but rock and track in the picture, it would be a nice place for a busy little scene.

      • I like the angled track option.
        Go for it.

          • Thanx guys! OK the scene is moving along. I've got it all mocked up, well at least the major components. So here's a few shots approaching from the canyon side; and some from the other side, a couple of them show the tracks running parallel to the edge of the layout at GRIZZLY, and so the idea to NOT run parallel to the edge at SCAVENGER. Thoughts???????

            • Kyle the angled track on the addition is definitely the way to go. The hill separating that from the curves is provides very effective separation between scenes.

              • Thanx for the kind words everyone; I hope ya'll had a safe and happy Thanksgiving. I've got an 8x12 storage unit to clear out this week (it's paid for thru DEC.) but why wait till the last moment with all the x-mas hullabaloo that's hitting. Besides, when I get that all done, next is put up the tree, a little shopping, we'll celebrate on the 19th with my side of the family, and on the 26th the wife and grandson are going to visit his dad and our daughter-in-law and grand daughter in PUTNAM VALLEY NY. Flying out on the26th and returning on the 30th.....I get to stay home and take care of our two 7 mo. old Schnauzer puppies. Ya know what that means??? MODEL RAILROADING TIME FOR KYLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
I'm gonna finish up the SCAVENGER scene, the stone arch, and maybe even the river/dam background blending scene. 'Can't wait!!!!!!Ya'll have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

                      • OK GUYS, I did it ! I bought a brand new MMI K27 from Southwest Narrow Gauge. Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy Fathers' Day, Happy whatever comes next year after that etc, etc, etc, THEY AIN'T CHEAP!!!!!!!!! But the MRS. said it's ok sooo I put it on my never before used PAY PAL credit acct. and signed over any future offspring (like that's ever gonna happen) and pulled the trigger!!! This also means there will be MAJOR CHANGES to the BCRR! Suffice to say I'll be keeping the portions running along the walls, by expanding the 20" radii to 22" (thanx Michael for the info) the canyon will be kept but the steel arch bridge will be relocated so that the original canyon will become an access aisle because the old access point over between Grizzly and Blackrock will be closed off with a new semi curved trestle. Also, the entire 4x8 section will be scrapped and a new TEAR DROP shaped peninsula will take its' place. TRACK PLAN TO FOLLOW. WOW what a way to end one year and bring in another!!!! Stay tuned!!!

I can't believe your going to make all those changes to the RR. I should be an interesting year following your progress.
