Hello. I'm going to build some O scale fishing boats, to go with a large waterfront diorama I intend to build for the next Australian Narrow Gauge Convention, and eventually on an On30 layout.

I bought 5 of these boats last year. One I've given to a fellow NMRA member, another I intend to give to another NMRA member, and 3 boats for myself.
You can pick these up for under $11, with free delivery, so worth giving a go.

I searched for 1:50 scale boats.
The instructions say it's 1:30.
The actual scale is 1:66.
And the instructions are rubbish.
So this will be almost a scratchbuild.
I mainly want it for the hull & deck, and the
cabins, etc will be modified or scratchbuilt to O scale size.

So here's what's in the pack.
very nice laser cut parts. I've never done a laser cut kit, so something new.

BIG jump from "N" scale Rob.That is a fine looking craft. And, from the looks of the packages that is some fine laser cut parts. This should be and interesting build to follow. Can't beat that price as well. They must of made a mistake somewhere.

Rob, it looks pretty detailed from the pictures. Thanks for the direct over-head shot. I copied it and in the future if I need a boat of this type I’ll trace it in AutoCAD and convert it to whatever scale I need.
It looks pretty straight forward construction to me. Should be a fun little project.
Please don't go by their rigging example, it's totally off. OMG the ship's wheel is on the outside of the cabin and the life rings are on top of the cabin.
Warning: look up shrimp boats before you go to finals.

Thanks Adrian. yep cheap, so worth a shot.
Thanks Jerry. me too.
Mike, hope it's fun. Will see.
Carl Yep, I'm always a plastic man in N scale, and scratchbuild all my O scale structures from bass wood / balsa. The burns will be painted over anyhow.
Rich, maybe easy for you. I'm a dawdler.
Louis, Mostly N scale, But i do dabble in ON30, as well as various scales for my Military modelling
Frank. Yep a fair bit included but as the scale is way out whack, mostly useless. Luckily, I do have a lot of O scale detail parts for use, plus junk box items.
The hull and deck was mainly what I was after.
Carl and Frank, I look forward to your advice as I know you have both build boats in the past, and Frank has a boating background.

I will be building all 3 boats at once.
I will place the cabins in different positions on the deck, so they look like different kits.
Two will have the square back and the third one I may do a round stern. ?
Here's the basic instructions. mainly just poor drawings, and the bit of written instruction, which my Wife translated for me.
Note the 1:30 scale. ...Rubbish.
Here's an O scale figure next to the cabin, which is more like 1:66 scale, so will be added too, in height, and new doors built.

All aboard, and here we go.
I am slow. so don't expect this to finished any time soon.
And please pull me up if my terminology is wrong. I'm a land lubber.
Trial fit
Deck being glued to the ribs and keel attached.
These will be waterline models but need the keel on for support, and the bow. Bottom half will be cut off later.
