"It's complicated." The original Auburn station was built by the Southern Central in the 1860's or 70's, before the SC was absorbed completely by the Lehigh Valley in the 1890's. I don't have any photos that help much for building a model. What I think is the original depot in one photo is in the distance and appears to have been a residence converted by the SC, which the SC did in the hurry to build with a limited budget. The Sandborn insurnace map shows it to have been a three story building, which was very unusual for a small-city depot. In the 1890;'s the Lehigh Valley built a very nice new depot in the location I have mine on my layout. In actuality, the original Auburn depot was in a different location.
As I said, I patterned my model after an extant depot on Owego. Only later did I realize the old Auburn depot probably looked quite different.

I liked your stone wall in post #89 in Carl's English Cottage thread. Looks like a real New England stone wall!
Are youbgoing to post a picture on this thread?
Thank you. I was really pleased and not a little surprised in how it turned out. Carl's wall was an important inspiration and lesson.
I have rather neglected this thread and yes, I do plan to post some pictures here. I was waiting for some scenery supplies to arrive in the mail, but maybe I will go ahead and post photos of my progress and plan to do updates down the road.

Here is a photo of the wall and some of the nearby scenery.
I still need to add fallen leaves and perhaps more trees. I also need to decide if this is where the cattle pen will remain and do some scenery accordingly.
