that's looking really good Mike.
Can you talk a bit about your scenery choices?
Bob
Bob, Thank you very much.
Scenery: After I have landforms in, I paint everything a light brown color; I use a custom-mixed color from a paint store that matches the old Floquil "Earth" as recommended by Frary and Hayden. Once it's dry, I brush on a layer of diluted white glue and spread actual dirt, wetting everything with a spritzer to make sure everything is glued down. I'm modeling autumn with dead weeds, dry grass and leafless trees, so the ground foam and flock I use is Woodland Scenics Burnt Grass, Wild Honey, and Harvest Gold. I have a cheap device and I use electrostatic flock. I nail brads into the surface every few inches to provide a ground as I work on an area, spread diluted glue, and do the flock. Sometimes I first glue fine ground foam in places to vary the look of large open areas.
Is that what you wanted to know?
By the way, I set the house on a partially scenicked area for purposes of the photo.

Looking good Mike. Get that roof on before the snow really flies. You do get snow in Virgina, right? Good to have you back home safe and sound.
Bernd
Bernd,
Thank you.
Yes, we do get snow. Generally not as much as in the snow belt, but it can be dangerous with hills, narrow roads, and inexperienced drivers. We had a dusting of snow Tuesday night. It's all gone now.

I've been wondering what's happening with your little house conversion. The roofing you did on the one side of it, looks excellent.
It's almost ready for occupancy, just in time for Christmas.

Yes, Thanks Mike. You have captured late Autumn well.

Thank you, Greg.
I'm actually hoping it's ready well before Christmas. We'll see.

I completed my latest project, a small house made from a modified kit for a section house. Here it sits on my layout. I need to work it into the scenery, but this gives an idea on how it will look.
Thank you for following along.
Mike
