  • Monday morning lounge

Good morning all from Sunny and 34 degree N.E. Indiana. The coffee urn is R E A D Y with Boilermaker brew! The front door to the lounge is open as of today! We're in phase 1 of the restrictions. So put some slack in that line as you get breakfast. We're celebrating the grand re-opening with a Hoosier Haystack.Don't overdue it, or you'll think you have the conventional flu.

Welcome back in, keep your distance.

It is supposed to get to the lower 60's later, so I'll wait before getting up on the roof. I got all the old shingles and rusty nails out yesterday, down to the rafters. This is a very tiring job for an old fart. But, I'll get started on the rebuild.

    Have a Super day!

Good morning, crew. Thanks for painting social distancing lines on the floor, Jim. Let's hope everyone obeys the rules.

My workbench was getting so cluttered that I was spending more time looking for tools and things than I was building. I spent some time yesterday straitening things and improving my lighting. We'll see if I really get more done now.

    Have a good day.

Good morning from So. Central Wisconsin used to be known as So. Wisconsin. The weather folks can change the area name, so can I. Weather, slightly cloudy, high 50’s, very calm, the grass is growing like crazy and the rain starts around 10am. Another captive day inside but hopefully we can squeeze the walk in before the rain.

My workbench is very clean at this moment as I cleaned or around noon yesterday and have not been in the train room since. I have enough materials for 1 dollhouse left and just enough if no mistakes are made for a 60’ slot track, 3 lanes. Taken inventory of everything to see how to pack it or dump it. Seems I have very little to be dumped but I don’t want to move much so maybe 1 more slottrack and another dollhouse. I only have 3 kits on the personal shelf for the layout and that is for the grain terminal that is still in the imaginary stage. I have enough parts and kits on the to sell shelves though to rebuild my own Paper Mill 3 times. I am grumpy, muscles ache and bored, I even finished reading a real, hold in your hands book yesterday. Pretty good but I prefer reading on my IPad Pro.

Who starts the “What books are you reading this summer thread”? Last summer I did not read a book on line or handheld, I see that changing already. Be safe.

Good morning Jim and the rest of the crew. It is sunny and 45 degrees here in S.E. Michigan and we are heading up near 60 this afternoon.

I spent some time painting LP yesterday. About half of the two dozen figures that I'm working on are done, and the rest are in various stages of completion. Another day or two and I will go back to work on the Campbell Oil Derrick build.

With the weather pleasant, I will spend a few hours on yard work this morning and early afternoon. Too nice to be indoors, besides, the next few days are supposed to be drizzly.

        Have a great day!

Sunny and clear 40s in my part of the mitten. Clouds and rain by late afternoon.

Excitement in the neighborhood yesterday, we went out around 2 for an hour and a half. 1/2 mile down the road there were 7-8 marked and plain Sheriff cars at a house with an equal number of uniform and plain cloths officers at a house. When we returned they were all still there. Been retired too long to have anyone I can call to nose into the happening....later a friend told the Doll her friend drove past there later and the Michigan State Police Crime Scene mobile unit was there. There was a 2 sentence news blurb on one of the Lansing TV websites stating a relative had found a middle aged woman there deceased and it was being investigated as suspicious. The old department was always close mouthed to the media when I worked there and it's just far enough from Lansing or Grand Rapids there will be little info come out. Sort of debunked "Stay Home Stay Safe"...

3d printer worked again fine and is again running another piece as I type this.

Well, lots to do. Everyone have a good day.

          Safe and healthy.

Morning crew. Rainy with temps in the 40's today. Looks like we'll get your weather out west of NY tomorrow.

After putting on the backhoe on the Kabota tractor I noticed one rear tire was way to soft to drive on. This was Saturday. Of course the tires are loaded with calcium and the valve on the tire is all corroded, so can't get any air into the tire. Took the tire off and loaded it on the trailer. Took it over to the Kabota dealer to get fixed today. Need the backhoe to dig up septic tank at my Mom's house to have it pumped out. We have a person the wants to buy the house, so got to get the septic system working.

Also have been busy chasing Conspiracy Theories across the net of political happenings. Always enjoy a good story. Some are true others are not, you just need to know where to look and keep an open mind with a bit of critical thinking. One thing I saw and know is going to happen is Mike Flynn getting exonerated, contrary to what the Washington Post says. This is going to open an excrement storm.

Ok, getting to political here. Back to laying blocks on my rockcrusher building and get it done so I can post some pictures in my quarry thread.

Good luck with the tire, Berndt. My new Deere has beet juice in the tires for weight.

              Ditto on your third paragraph.....

Good still morning here. Went for the walk got about 1/2 mile from the house and the wind like doubled. Trekked home. Decided I want my 1/2 acre front yard cut and since no rain yet let’s try it. Just got it done, almost 45 minutes ( I was moving) and just got in the garage and the heavens opened. Too bad the other 2 acres of yard is not cut yet but those acres need the riding mover anyway.

My daughter Emailed as I mentioned the doll house materials I still have to her. She said build it as she has a friend who’s daughter has seen Harpers and asked if there were anymore. So, I am off to the garage to build a doll house. No trains today for me. Enjoy your day and Karl if you were a cop on TV you would have just walked on to the crime scene and they would welcomed you with arms open. ARE you telling me that’s just not true?
