After a long, while I tried to log on to Model Railroad Hobbyist. All I got was an "unsupported protocol" message.
Any body know what the problem might be?

I suspect you have an out-of-date web browser. The Secure Sockets Layer (keeps net connections secret from eavesdroppers) has been changing as people break the security of older versions. If your computer's operating system is still supported, you (or some malware) might have turned your automatic updates off. If you're running Windows XP, I don't think anyone is updating browsers for it anymore.

I think James 'nailed it'! If you are running XP (now dead to Microsoft for the past 10+ years) you will find very few websites that still allow access. If you have a program that you can't live without, take your XP system off the internet, and understand that it's no longer susceptible to hackers.
