  • Lots more bricks Fred. At least they're not a heavy as the prototype.
The bit you just redid, looks great. Colour blending is spot on.

I still have to mortar, add window sills and of course windows, lots of windows. And 3 doors. The roof over the add-on is shingled.

            • Looks great Fred. Once mortared, should blend perfectly with the other building.

              • Thanks, Carl, Bob, Dave and Rob. Actually, the two structures are different colors, so they shouldn't blend too closely.

                And, speaking of mortar..........

I'm building the parts separately because they are two different colors. What's black should be white and what's white will be black or some dark color.

There's 27 windows and two doors with arched openings, so this may take an hour or so.

                  • Fred, the brickwork is looking super. Convenient that colors of the parts for the windows need to be reversed .

                      • Thanks, Rich and Bill!!

Carl, the mortar is vinyl spackling. I used black styrene, that I have a ton of and is the right thickness for the window frames, then Evergreen Models styrene strips for the windows, naturally they are white. In real life the colors are reversed. It just worked out that way.

                        • Fred,

Your brickwork gets better and better with each model, you are the master bricklayer.

                            • Fantastic brickwork, Fred. The bricks lend the walls just enough texture to create the impression of a buildings that's been around for a while. And thge color of the bricks is spot on.

The windows look fussy to make, but after laying all those bricks maybe the windows will seem to go fast.

                              • Fred,
Your brick work is always a thing of beauty! As others have said, the weathered look, coloring, and mortar work you achieve are amazing.
Sills look great, and the windows look prototypical.
