  • Interesting rail-marine and city photos circa WWI

    These are probably findable in the Library of Congress site, but they struck me as worth a look. Subject of the story is sad, but the author or editor has a good eye.

    That's a heartbreaking article but I applaud their unflinching look at history and the photographs are very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

      James, those are some great photos!

      I love how they used those hanging platforms on the side of the ship, for loading those bananas.

        These are findable on https://www.shorpy.com, too. I've seen the banana boat photo recently, but I have no idea how far back it was.... Be careful... Shorpy can be a Major Thief of Time!
