  • While testing #7, the Fortitude, I found that on curves the tender would short out on the Engine Frame so I made a new drawbar (3D printed) that was 1 mm longer. That meant that the drive rod had to be about 1.5mm longer. The Shaft had enough material for me to just move the sockets out a bit like one would adjust a wheelset that was out of gauge. I've been enjoying continuing Fortitude's break in. The short is gone. I ran her with #5 to see how close they speed matches and they were perfectly in sync. Hopefully more Video soon.

And editing a video of them running. They both need a little fine tuning and running in yet but they are excellent runners.

                • They look beautiful Bob. Four years of hard work. I followed along from the beginning and pick up a few ideas. Thanks the thread. Will make a great reference to come back to.

                    • Superb work, Bob!

Are you ready to ditch it all and go diesel now?

                      • Bernd, Mike and
Andre. Thank you very much. I'm so looking forward to getting the scenery rolling. As for Stink'in diesels- one for the work train is enough.

                            • Bob,
I'm just catching up. I really enjoyed the video, and the locos look great! Four years seems like a long time, but the results are worth it!

                              • Scott, Thom and Bill, Thank you. I appreciate the kind words. The video is coming I'm trying to learn how to adjust the color balance as the engines are coming out too red. Also, while the engines are running great the freight cars aren't co-operating when the camera is recording. But, the video is coming.
