Thanks Mike. This was a fun build, and it is a fine looking kit to start with. Just needed a little TLC.

That is for sure Philip, big difference with this replacement drive unit, and tossing that dinosaur of a motor system that came with the kit. Back to your question on sound. No I have not yet put a sound unit into it, but that will be a future task for sure.

With that 44 drive it is no longer a coffee grinder compared to the original horrendous drive.

No problem Lou. Yes Greg's comment is so funny!

Hey Lou did you use a different drive on that one. I kinda skimmed through catching up....oops
Edit: I see a Bachmann 44 Ton.... Well done!

Glen, and Mike sorry I never saw your responses, and got back to you. I do thank you for your comments.

Philip thanks for bringing this thread back up. I never got to see Glen and Mike's posts. Ensign's comment was a good one wasn't it?

That looks really good Louis. Sorry I missed the build. I've often wondered how difficult/easy it would be to convert this kit to HOn3

It looks wonderful! Except for the copper coloured chains, you need to blacken those up.

Then it will be Super Wonderful!

Thanks for sharing the build with us!

Thank you Greg. Yes, I saw in the final picture that those chains would have to see a solution of Blackin-it by A-West. If you ever want to see mistakes in modeling, or things needing fixing, take a picture and look at it. It tells all.
