      • Started in on the next car and this will take some time...

        • Drop-door gondola for ballast? I kitbashed one of those with the peaked center. (I'd post a photo but the Safari bug won't let me...)

            • Side door A-frame interior gon or block car or whatever it's going to carry....

Couple of tank cars snuck into the shop and shouldered this aside for a fit. 0.030" brass tubing is fun to work with, :erm:

              • Making a little progress getting the doors hinged up; the clutch of tank cars, a big house, and a few square feet of RTV molds with 2 lbs of resin to use have been distracting me.

                • Finally got back to building these 2 cars :erm: after wading through a bunch of other projects that had to get in/out of the shop.

Got one of the sides rough assembled to the point that it's got a bit of rigidity and can be handled easily. Excess length of the top 3 boards will get trimmed off.

                  • Has it been that long? Time has no meaning when one is retired and sequestered.

                    I remains an intriguing project.

Not really, but I probably built 10-12 other cars and structures that had to get done.

Time, well, when you have deadlines to meet even when retired (sort of...) still matters. Being sequestered actually promotes productivity in the shop!

Thanks! I'm still building 2 of these cars sort of in parallel and always playing catch up with the 2nd one. Maybe make fewer errors,

                      • Got one side trimmed up and glued to the side of the base frame now.

                        • Sides and ends on so the basic body is now assembled on car #1; car #2 is waiting for room to get assembled.

                          • Getting the nbw's installed along with some end grabs on the body. 2nd car like this is catching up!

                            • Martin,

Looking good! The rod strengthening the end is a nice detail.

Are you freelancing this with some prototypes in mind?

Looks very well built, as usual. Keep going!
