I have a question: where can i find the dimensions of the cars that ran with 1880 steam engines? Please

28' to 36'. Best source is John White's "American Freight Cars" book. Next best thing is the 1879 and 1888 Car Builder's Dictionaries. You can find copies of those old books on-line.

Thank you Dave, I was certain you would know. The reason I had to ask is that I moved and can not find my reference books.

For freight cars, check the official railway equipment register.

Google books has many of them listed
