  • While I was waiting...

For the roundhouse teflon tubing to show up, I started another car project. Started late Friday after I 'found' the old Train Shed Cyclopedia in the barn archives. So here is what I've got done on it. The horizontal boards are scale 5-1/2" X 1-1/2". (1.6mm X .4mm). The floor is printing right now.

Thanks Pete, Bill, and Karl. Karl, it's that PLA-PHA filament that has a little flex and is tougher like ABS. You'll get there, keep working with it. I'm certainly still learning it.

Jim, very nice and crisp. You're on the way to a beauty of a model.

                    Ted, Mike, Bruce, and Dave,

Thanks for the comments. As slick as this may look, there has been some serious head scratching trying to figure out a couple of "what was I thinking" bugs with the design work.

The 'Z' bars are .2 mm thick (I call'em N-bars) and were fairly straight forward. It took numerous attempts to get the doors to fit, look right, and still have the slide ability. Here are the latest steps.

Hmmm, look's like I've got a little sanding dust on the top of the door in the photos.

You planning to use this rig to ship Golden Guernseys?

Pete, I know those gears are turning in your head.

I think Pete means Churning, thinking ice cream.

A little more progress this afternoon/evening on the stock car, roof braces and the roof panels without the roof walk yet.

Almost ready to paint. I've got to add the brake wheel mast and it will be off to the paint shop. Added the lower end plates to support the coupler cut arms, the roof walk, the ladders, and the Tichy corner grab rails.
