    JGDURAND, thanks for your comment but no, I do not think the red is too bright. I have seen many

    photos and paintings of these old wagons and it seems that the wheels and undercarriage,

    especially the wagons with advertising on them, are all kinds of bright colors like red. white,

    yellow, cream, etc. and usually kept clean and polished too.

      The wagon looks great, and very real with all those little details! I've bookmarked your pics of the undercarriage and its parts, for reference.

      I suspect it's just the camera playing tricks, making the red appear brighter than it really is.

        I know I promised some better photos, I had hoped to take the photos outside but the weather

        just has not cooperated, still gloomy. Here's what I have anyway.
