    Ray,

    I like all those models, especially the night scene. Your technique undoubtedly improved over time but it looks like you always had an artist's eye for architecture and atmosphere.

      Ray, I second what sgtbob stated...What great memories! I wish I had all my early work but when you're young you don't put any importance on the past and think to save anything.

      By the way, I like The Country Corner Store...It has a good looking aged feel to it. Most of us try hard to achieve what you did on an early scratchbuild.

        What really shocked me was realizing that these few models were pretty much the entire extent of my early attempts at scratchbuilding realistic structures. The only models I'd done prior to these were 1/16" to the foot scale, and were much cruder.

          Boy. sure do wish that more of us were born with the modeling gene. I've spent over 50 years trying to get something to look as good as you produced as a kid.

            Well Ray, I only wish I had a portion of that abilty that you have for modeling what you see. As a 95% left brain person, It's awesome to see what talent is here on the forums.

              I've been looking for something like this for lakeshore lined with real stones (they cover rubber membrane of the pond).

              Photos, old and new, an inspiration for modelling. E.g. I've assembled a few pics of interesting huts on the net-- see about the middle of this:
