        Jeff, I think that the paint finish came out OK. Considering that you did an experiment, I'd be pleased with the results. I strongly suspect that a weathering wash (Like A-I or Silverwood) will eliminate the 'unpainted' look in the siding grooves as the wash will be trapped and color the grooves. Considering that you have gesso in there, I be that the grooves will actually color better than one would normally experience. Looking forward to hearing and seeing more.
