I have about 8 of his switches on an indoor layout and they work great. The last I checked he was closing up shop. Some were having problems using his switches outdoors. The spikes would back out making the rails come loose. Llagas creek has some nice switches also but thr spikes are pushed through the ties aND bent over so they cannot back out.

I believe he is about to close up shop due to health issues. http://switchcrafters.com/

I can't tell you anymore since I have never used his product. Looks nice. I would think aluminum oxide would cause problems for electrical pick up, but if you go the dead rail way, not so much.
