Thank you ever so much, Rich! Good to be back.... I have a busy easter ahead, with the annual easter art show, after two years of covid- closed doors. But after that I'll begin preparing the layout move!

i just wish the museum of science and industry in chicago had been the purchaser, for strictly selfish reasons.

    Troels,

With my utmost sincerity, it is a blessing in disguise that you are now able to share more with us.
But, I cannot take all the credit. Without the help of Rick and Joe, this would not have come about.
I am glad that you contacted me and I am happy that you will be here again. I have been busy looking
at your first segments of the beginning Coast Line RR again and all of your hard work. I'm especially
honest to say that being available for public viewing is special, congrats ! Good luck.

No... there was plenty of interest back then, but the sale happened a couple of months ago!

Thank you guys!! Bill and Jerry, I don't have any plans of a new layout. I divide my spare time between wife, grandchildren and playing music, and really miss fly fishing, so the rods will be used before modeling resumes

    Troels,

Congratulations on finding a home for the Coast Line. As significantly, congratulations on finding a home for you beautiful equine painting. I imagine it’s bittersweet to see both leave your possession yet at the same time know that they will bring joy to so many others.

Troels! Great to hear from you! It's terrific to read that your Coast Line RR has found a new home and will be on public display. Will you assist the club with the reassembly?
Might you someday build another layout?

Hello folks! With the help of Pennman I have now been able to log on
The Coast Line layout recentlyfound new owners, a model rr club further north in Sweden. It is still in its shed, and the plan is that I'll record a few videos talking about the layouts history, construction and the various areas. In may or june the club members will arrive to cut out moveable sections and move the thing. They plan to have the layout on public display.
For me it is a relief that it can be of use to others... I have spent very little time inthe shed these last few years.
I will try to document the dismantling and move, an post it here
Now I'll browse the forum to see what everyone has done recently...

It's nice to hear from you Troels and that things are going well for you. Any chance on a glimpse of that painting?

Are you still planning on doing another layout or are you continuing to add to your current layout? Whatever decision you make, I'm sure it will be spectacular. Looking forward to more updates.

Hello guys! Alive and fine, considering the times. My only activity in the train shed is connected to the two elctric bicyles currently parked there So I get a quick climpse of the layout twice a day! I have actually had some spare time recently, since art sales are slower. A huge comission for a six by twelve foot painting took care of this years finances. Shipping it to Norway in a couple of days... But I have actually used the spare time to relax for a change. Began playing the viola da gamba again after a 33 year break. Even spent time in the garden!! But sadly, not in the train shed so far. We'll see what the winter brings...

Hope you are all safe and sound... will try to catch up a little!
