  • Local Newspaper website features MA-and-G video (link)

I thought you guys might like to see the layout video that was shot for my local newspaper's (Clarion Ledger) website. To view it, just click on the Real Media link entitled “Visit the Train Man” under “related items”. Here is the link:

    http://www.clarionledger.com/apps/pb...0355/1001/news

The whole thing is less than 2 minutes long, but I thought it promoted the hobby well. I'd be interested to hear your feedback.

    Hi Cliff,

Wow! I just caught the video of you in the layout room. Brilliant! What's even freakier is the fact we both just posted videos of our layouts at almost the very same time! The God's must be crazy!!!

Great job, Cliff...you've managed to promote the hobby in an enormous way and your layout is one of those "landmark" examples that will be studied and appreciated for many years to come! Bravo!  [:-apple][:-apple][:-apple]

Cliff, I'd love to see the video. But every time I click on the "Visit the Train Man..." link, an Adobe GoLive CS2 file downloads but won't open. Instead I get a "Your 30-day Trial Period has Expired" message.

Sorry. I tried 5 times and got the same thing each time.

Well, I got the little glitch fixed and was able to see the video. You've got a beautiful layout, Cliff. It's a shame the video was so short.

                Walt and Rick,

Thanks for your comments. My website link in my signature has over 100 photos of the layout in addition to nearly 20 minutes of video footage. I hope you can check it out!

Mike, I agree the video is too short, but I'm happy to report that my layout and I will be appearing on a local television program, "Look Around Mississippi", to be filmed in early October. It should be anywhere from about 15 - 30 minutes long and very similar to the clip Mike Hamer posted of his incredible layout. Of course the grandaddy of all videos will be my Allen Keller Great Model Railroads Volume 56 available in May 2007. To have an entire hour done in the caliber of the Keller tradition should really be something special. Consider this clip to be the appetizer to a seven-course meal! [:-chef]

Cliff, short but sweet. But quite honestly, after viewing the video's on your web site, that short clip just doesn't do your excellent work justice! Although it was nice to see you in this video. None the less, congratulations for getting the recognition you deserve. Keep it up!!!

                        Cliff,

Thanks for sharing the video clip. Coupled with the ones on your webpage, I can say great layout. It is good seeing MRR getting the spot light.

Great layout tour, can't wait for more.

Yours is a layout that captures much of the same feeling I get with Steve Flanigan's as well. As a "notherner" with deep South GA maternal roots the feelings of visits made yearly as a child to the South are awakened in your layout.
