    No room for a layout? ...... I beg to differ

    I purchased a new fast tracks jig and some tools two weeks ago and wanted to see what I could do with them.

    If anyone says they have no room for an ON30 layout, I am going to call them out fast. If you have room for a book you have room for a layout.

    BTW, DC Porter has been doing loops for an hour now with no issues. Yes I have also pulled many four wheel cars around the loop.

        Next step is a suit case layout that fits the airlines overhead bin requirements, complete with operational potential. I travel a lot for work.

          I built a portable HOn30. Ok so it's the samller brother of O. The engine is battery powered. Here's the video.

            Neat railroad what is the overall size?

            My resin pusher at BVM sent an email out about re-running an old kit a few weeks ago. It is one of my favorite engines and I have three kits sitting here ready to build. Sorry Dallas no new bucks from me. But hey the one I have built (DCC) is running well for its test on the 6" radius loop.

              Larry, I remember as a kid, my father showing us an article in a train magazine, of the very thing you speak of. It was an HO layout in a suite case.

                Very similar to the 50+ YO suite case layout...

                Moving pretty good for 9 Volts.....

                  The N scale track oval is 19" X 22". It was used to bust balls for somebody that said you couldn't battery power an HOn30 engine. He never laid down any ground rules.

                  Smallest oval layout I saw was a 50 cent piece as the inner track and a rail for an outer track. Can't remember the scale though.

                    Many more engines did loops today. The little grandit line battery engines look right at home.
