    POSTING IMAGE FILES:

    Gentlemen,

Since reading the steps necessary to post a Photo on your Forum, I'm afraid that it is just too involved, compared to the procedures on the last two railroad forums I've been on.

I don't need these kind of complications, especially since I'm experiencing early symptoms of Alzheimers.

So I'll just throttle back before this derailment, and quietly slip onto the "So Long" siding.

It's been a pleasure, for as long as it lasted!

      Hal,

If you already have a photo posted anywhere on the web (like in one of those other forums you mention), you can easily post it here as well. Simply click on the "Insert Image" button (see arrow below) and then paste the location of that photo (its URL) between the two sets of brackets. That's it.

        Doug,

It's quite easy to do. Here's proof. I went to your website. Right click on your picture. Copied the url that it's at and then used the "insert image" button like Dutchman described.

        Nice website by the way.

            Hal,

When you click on the "Insert Images" button as indicated by the red arrow in my previous response, you will get a screen that looks like below. Just past the URL of the picture that you want to post where the black arrow indicates.

If anyone having problems posting here, have you tried the many Facebook Groups for model railroading? I moderate Modeler's Guild there, and post daily. Just click on the "post photo" tab, select the photo from your computer, upload and post. Easy to post a bunch of photos at one time, all in one post or in an album. I posted 10 photos today on my personal page, added captions, all in a few moments.

Of course I'm assuming there are many on here have no desire to join Facebook for many unfounded reasons, as I've seen mentioned elsewhere in the past. I'm having fun there, why not give it a try?

Posting photos hosted elsewhere is not the issue (if I understood the original post).

"Since reading the steps necessary to post a Photo on your Forum, I'm afraid that it is just too involved, compared to the procedures on the last two railroad forums I've been on."

Posting photos from one's PC appears to be the issue.

Plus, if the photo you post is hosted elsewhere, it could lead to empty squares when the other site goes poof.

                  Exactly.

And trying to lure members to other sites isn't cool either.

Posting pictures here is not that hard.

If I could sit next to you for three minutes you'd be posting picture with your eyes closed.

I could never understand members complaining about the number of steps in the instructions to post a picture.

There many multiple number of steps to building a kit, yet you build them.

You do 1 step at a time.

I host my photo's on my own website. There for if I go "poof" so does everything I've posted on any forum I've been on. Yes, it costs me to run my website, but I'm in control of a good portion of what I post.

Many don't know this but your connection through your phone company, if you still have a land line, provides a place to put up a website for free with in limits. My second website is through Frontier Telecommunications. Here's the link to that website: http://frontiernet.net/~thecat/index.html

Facebook is fine for some. I've heard of to many shenanigans going on their. What ever works for the individual I guess.

                      Rick is right.

It took him about three minutes to teach me how to upload photos here.

Hell if I can do it anyone can do it!! Thanks Rick.

Hal, DOn't give up.... It took me 3 days to finially get it to work. It is tricky.

Your photos are all ready the correct size

The tricky part is pointing your mouse arrow excatly in the middle between the 2 brackest next to IMG.

Like this > [IMG] ^ [IMG] Try it a couple of times, you will get it. Believe me. I have comprehension

problems from surgeries. Like I said it took me 3 days to get it. You can get it to....Just relax and take your time.

It is more difficult than other sites. But I must tell you, this forum web site is worth the effort. This is a very special group

of very tallented men. All educated and appear to be men of charactor. All so far have been sharing and complementry>>

Hang in there................. And try it again a few times...........We want to see your layout, it sounds great!!!

                            HEY RICK

I will still complain about the number of steps required to post a picture, since the forum I recently quit was much easier.

When someone says "If I can do it, anyone can do it", that doesn't mean a thing. I can make an F#dim7 chord on the piano, and very few people can do that, unless they're professional pianists.

                              HEY RICK,

Why do you suggest that I'm "trying to lure members to another site"? Hell man...I QUIT that previous forum because I got into disagreements with other members!

Don't assume anything until you know the FACTS, dude!

Sure, the picture posting was easy, but the Forum had some bad apples in it!

                              Understand?
