I have been trying the templates and a sample of street track. Here is the progress. This track requires patience and I may need to switch to plywood to build the layout to secure the track. It would still be 2x3. Turnouts are 10" and I have run a black beetle drive around the test track.

For now it is held down with 3m two sided tape. The instructions say super glue to a wood base. I think I will try pliobond to allow for repositioning the tracks with heat. It is all trial and error at this point in time.quote:

Larry, that's a great track plan, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
I mentioned elsewhere (http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/t...TOPIC_ID=43199) that I've got a couple pieces of motive power started for this project, which means the scale/gauge has beed decided on, as well as a theme. I'm planning an On30 electric tramway based in some tropical place, probably an agricultural line, sugar cane most likely. There will be some ramshackle passenger operations too I'm sure. I am going to keep on with my dystopian idea too, but it will be subtle.
Like I said I've already got the board and a bare minimum of track, I just have to start laying it down..!

I love the idea, and you got me hooked. Starter, so I know I won't be able to complete in a reasonable time frame, but definitely will use the idea to cut my teeth. Good luck all. Looking forward to seeing what gets done.
