    • I spent Sunday pulling out a new cork board and laying a new track pattern for a different layout. I am thinking of Wild Bill's fronter town and show. The scale will be 1/55 3 foot gauge. I am thinking of using undersized o scale structures that I have and some gaming figures mixed with 1/50 modern people. Who says you do not have room for a layout that could keep you busy for a year or two.

The track and Porter will be ON30 but scales to 1/55 3' track.

Come on get out of your arm chairs folks.

Rick don’t despair. It’s a tortoise and hare mind thing.

I see you’ve planned the switches but did you consider No. 3’s or 4’s to give you more room? Those longer switches don’t give you as much room to manover.

                    • I am definitely the tortoise. [:-turtle]

Frank, I did consider using smaller switches but I already had one #5 and a friend was kind enough to offer making another for me.

They'll be fine for what I want to do.

                        • Rick,

You can get there, the rules only state it has to run by thanksgiving. The whole point is to be able to run a train.

                              • Due to unrelenting requests for a progress from the On30 Lounge crew , here is a progress picture.

Got the two switches installed, stained the ties and started painting the pink foam a tan color.

After finishing the painting I'll start getting some dirt down and then I can start installing the rail.

                                Sorry for the harsh shadows.
