What where you thinking for lower and upper elevation??

What would be the lower, level 2 or vice versa???

Where the helix is placed depends a lot on how low the shelves can be in the man cave and I wasn't even sure that you still wanted to use that space in a 2-deck design.

I wasn't really thinking that far ahead yet. Just trying different configuartion of the mainline as I think of them. I assume the final design (assuming you still want the 2 decks) will be a smash of everything to date. I was hoping you could add a few other suggestions so we could bounce this back and forth.

I was thinking level #2 as the upper level to keep the bridge across the door as high as possible, but I guess whatever works for you.

BMW ~ The one this I keep trying to remove is duck-under's or removable track spans. I am planning for the old times ahead, and trying a few layouts out with them really sours my thinking. This may put the nail in the double deck.

BMW ~ That was one place I had considered in another concept when I was using the smaller room. It is still open for that kind of use.

Hi Brad,

With two doors in the space it is not very likely that we will come up with a double deck design that won't require a duck under somewhere. You could possibly raise it to the level of a walk under, but that would no doubt also require a raised floor too. So I'm not sure it would be worth it for the amount of space we're gaining.

Hope this email is finding you well.

After puzzling for months on this double deck deal, I have reached agreement with management to go back and continue on the original single level layout.

I was going to quote the version number, but the attachments have all dropped out of the thread. I will have to open up the laptop to see the last viable version we were working on at the time. I can then post any updates I was working on. I had been playing with the 3D elevations in preparation to start looking at the layouts base framework design. Looking to have modules, hung on the wall and self standing, just in case

Looks as though I can see the attachments thru a PC, but not on the iPad earlier in the week.

Just checked back on the iPad and all is back. If this was fixed by you, thanks....

The last version posted was "v5.07", this is where we can move forward from. I will be looking to make sure I have this CAD version on file, and start back into the benchwork with nominal elevation modules, connecting thru them with spline roadbed. Will see what I come up with in the next week or so.

It was fixed indirectly thru me. I wasn't even aware of the problem until you mentioned it and I hadn't realized that my server was offline for a few days. All is good now, but you might notice them gone again for a day or so. All my domains are being moved to another (hopefully more reliable) server and it might take a few hours before the new IP address is picked up across the network.

Well, it has begun.....

I am slowly getting my room ready. Son move out into his own house last month, that created a wealth of open space in our home, and garage.

Moved out the BowFlex, stationary bike, and air hockey table to his place, now I can see the floor again. Started to plot out full size track plan on the wide format plotter. Have set a limit at 36" x 60" panel plots. This way if when its all laid down, changes can happen in just the small area and save paper.

Picked up a few IKEA shelving units to mount on the wall under Wolf Mine area. Building those and hoping to mount tomorrow. Next will be planning out the ceiling lighting and then on to the benchwork design. Benchwork design will be critical for build, I want minimal or no legs on the floor. Simple mount thru the drywall and into the studs. Same for backdrop, and finally upper valance.

Rob, thanks for your help to date. Could not have got thru this without a partner to bounce ideas off.

As I remember how to attach images I will post room shots with the layout down on the floor....
