I found this on Pinterest. I think every layout needs one of these.

The modeling is really excellent, IMHO.

Pinterest has tons of great model railroad photography - if you need another black hole for your time.

Put a PDT under it and run it!

        What "scale" is it?

Hi, Pete (and all y'all) --

I back-tracked in Pinterest and found out that the modeler is Chris Walace. Here's a link to his blog:

          http://4largescale.com/chris/index.htm

I wasn't able to find the scale but I expect you could, with some more digging. It's an interesting and useful blog, in any case. The guy is really good.

If I had to guess, I'd say 1/32nd, just because that's a common scale for fantasy figures (I think[:-bigeyes2] )

Added - just noticed that the name of the blog is "largescale" - duh, that would be a clue..

Pete, like Rick said it’s an iron and it’s sitting on AristoCraft code 332 brass garden railroad track the scale would be in the general neighborhood of 1:32 to 1:20. Some lucky gal’s husband took her iron away. My wife could only wish.

So this is ... "Steam... Punked."

I'm smart enough to have jobs where I don't need suits, ties, jackets, shined shoes or pressed anything. What is this "iron" of which you speak? Life is Good!

The "iron" is a furniture repair tool - used to steam dents out of wood and to reactive hide glue so you can re-stick veneers. I'm told it can also be used to flatten fabrics.

I think "steam punk" is a lot of fun - despite my advanced age.

Imaginative, Pete you need an amphibious version of that for the bay in the summer time. If, in fact, we have another one of those this year.

Very imaginative! And a great way to use that old broken iron.

                        Thanks for posting this Don!

The modeler's name is actually Chris Walas, in case anyone is trying to look him up on the internet. He is a special effects and makeup guy for some pretty good movies, and has made some really interesting model trains, Haven't seen much from him lately.
