    Mack R tractor mounted boom truck

    The Mack R had a long run of production (1965 - 2005)and was considered one of the best trucks ever made by drivers. This R model is a combination of two Athearn kits that they had a limited release of. The cab and chassis come from the R model dump truck and the boom is from the Ford F850 boom truck. A few additions are the fifth wheel, deck grate, mudflaps and front bumper with chain.

              An update to the Mack R, I wanted a trailer that would be suited to hauling a utility transmission tower pole. Currently there is a tapered stainless pole with mounting flange being turned for the load. This trailer is from American Limited and was offered as an extendable container trailer. It expands by about 10 scale feet. I added the bunks, diamond plate decking and marker lights.
