We have heat and power in the lounge and hot coffee and water for tea, hot buns,toast,and anything to keep you warm. I stopped at the bird feeder and gave them some food and nuts. More work on the layout today not going out unless I have to. So stay warm and if you can stay in maybe offer the mailman a hot coffee when he walks by .Tom

Good morning, Tom and crew. It's 10° here in Tidewater Virginia and forecast to only go up about 10 degrees today. I'm staying inside like Tom and I'm going to try to wrap up a club project I've been working on.

Good morning Tom, Dave, George and the rest of the crew. Yesterday morning we woke up to 56 degree temps and this morning it was zero.[:-cold] The wind has the wind chills in the minus 20's. Yup, a good day to stay indoors.
Today I will read the instructions for my Challenge build, get the necessary supplies and tools ready, and plan the 'modifications' to the kit.
The only outdoor activity will be to feed the animals and to try to get the eggs in before they freeze solid.

-11 on the weather bug below the screen right now, wind is about 20 and windchill is in the -30s. We do have sun this morning and it seems to have quit snowing.....the lake effect is not getting this far inland today. Speaking of lakes, there was a collision yesterday in the northern portion of Lake Michigan between a 990 foot lake boat and an Coast Guard ice breaker. Everyone staying inside here today, except the egg lady. Tomorrow a heat wave starts with temps by Saturday in the 30s.

Karl, my coop is set up with the nest box hanging off the rear on the north side of the coop. It doesn't take long on a day like this for the eggs to freeze solid and crack. Luckily, I was out early enough to get two eggs before that happened today. The third hen is either on a later schedule or will skip today completely.quote:

Morning Tom and the rest of the crew! Coffee sounds great! We're up to an almost pleasant 10F here. Calling my plow guy to have finish up the driveway sometime today.
