Hi Mike, Mother Nature sure can create beautiful masterpieces, for sure. We just get in the way as we try to hustle around town with our hurried lives. It's great to stop and pay attention to the beauty around us! Merry Christmas!

We've had two days of freezing rain here in New Brunswick, Canada. And its below freezing now so it looks like the ice won't be going away very soon. Minor power outages at our place last evening, but many in our area are still without power. Sister just arrived from the opposite side of our city, her power has been out since Monday afternoon.

Not a fun winter so far, with two decent sized snow storms already too!

Those are some beautiful pictures, but the ice can sure create problems as well.

In the 1998 ice storm, a friend of mine in St. Lawrence County, NY had 6" of ice on his greenhouse. This was enough so when the ash next to it split in half, the trunk just bounced off without even cracking a pane of glass.

Just a few on my property.

Today it just started to melt a little. The roof makes a noise with all the sliding ice sheets.

                  Karl,

That is an incredible photo - it belongs on a calendar or something.

Those pictures are beautiful, but, the havoc and devastation that it can create is emense.

Here in Toronto for many parts of the city, they have been without power for 72 hours. There are still some areas that have no power and may not until the weekend.

We went from 1°C and raining to -14°C in less then six hours, talk about deep freeze. Trees are down everywhere.

Finally, yesterday the sun came out and what a beautiful view, with the sun sparkling through the ice laden branches.

I'll try to post some images when I get to my computer.

It is beautiful but treacherous. Numerous Carbon Monoxide casualties in the area and a great many here without power still. Two of our kids without power have spent Christmas here, doing laundry. We canceled travel plans for the day due to more snow and wind forecast that most likely undo some of the progress being made on repairs.

Thanks for the kind remarks on my photo.
