Hello,
My name is Tom Farin and I just found a new home. I've been kicking around Model Railroading for a while. I just brought up my new web site.
http://oldtomstoys.com
Construction has just begun on my indoor On30 layout, the Pacific Coast & Northern. While a freelance railroad, most of the inspiration comes from the North Pacific Coast RR.
My idea for a test track near my modeling workbench somehow morphed into a 20' long point to point shelf layout. I don't know how these things happen. I started work on the benchwork yesterday. If you look under PC&N Test Layout from my site menu, I'll take you through the thought process. I want it up and running by February as my two male grandkids will be in town for the big annual Madison Train show and I want them to be able to run trains.
Long range plan is to build the PC&N layout which is probably a 1-2 year project. You can also see some preliminary information on that layout too.
My site also has my Mason Bogie archive, the largest collection of Mason Bogie images anywhere. It was developed with help of a bunch of folks at mylargescale.com in around 2002 as part of David Fletcher's Masterclass project to scratch build Mason Bogies in G scale.
I think that's enough for now.
