  • 'Twas the Saturday before Christmas Lounge

Good morning from the Jersey Highlands where temps will be in the low 50's today. The snow cover has compacted down to about 4". At this rate it will be gone before it gets cold again on Tuesday.

Breakfast today is your choice of Oatmeal, wheat toast with homemade strawberry jam, or a large slice of Bonnie's Sour Cream Coffee Cake. The Coffee of the day is our own Railbender Blend.

On the agenda for today is an early Christmas with my mother and sister, since we will be heading to Virginia for Christmas Day.

Boy, interest in the upcoming Challenge is growing. Jumped in yet?

    Have a great day!
    Bruce

Doing a little bit of work on the upcoming NMRA eBulletin, this morning. At this point, we're just waiting for a couple articles to come through. So, I am caught up with what we have.

I've already jumped in to the challenge, Bruce. The one thing I have done to prepare for the challenge is some artwork I did a few weeks ago.

Good morning Bruce some of Bonnie's coffee cake and coffee sounds good. It's still dark here in the Cleveland area with the rain and almost 60. Didn't stop in the lounge last night to tired from shopping all day. Lucy has someone stopping by this morning to pick up some earrings and I got my turnouts yesterday so I'll be down laying track. Have a good day and no eggnog while driving. Tom

Morning Bruce, Chuck and Ton. We got the snow without the rain. Shovelling was easy...deep but dusty. Later this afternoon another system is supposed to come through bringing freezing rain...yuck! Breaky was delicious, Bruce. Please let Bonnie know how tasty her Sour Cream Coffee Cake was. I actually had two pieces!

Well, it's outside to shovel the stuff that fell from the sky overnight...then down to the workbench to do more shingling on the pharmacy build I'm doing. Have a great day everyone! [:-apple]

Chuck, my article was in by the deadline - you trained me well.

BTW, that Coat of Arms looks great.

Good morning, Bruce and crew. Yesterday, Pat had me out running errands in all the Christmas traffic and she has a couple for me again today. :erm: I think this should wrap things up.

I'm trying to figure out what that the coat of arms has to do with the challenge, Chuck. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

            Have a good day.

Good Morning Everyone. Up early today. Just could not sleep. Hmmmm. The Friday Night Group was by last night for our ops session on the LVN. Had an all new ops plan and it went pretty well. Gilbert also brought back a repair he did for me on a split gear (OMI SD70M-2). He built a custom sleeve for the gear which is smaller than a grain of rice. I am field testing it and it seem to be holding up. Good to get this puppy back from being a shelf model. Thanks for the coffee and grub.

Good Morning Bruce and the rest of the RR-L Elves making ready for Christmas, even grumbling Dave.

No snow here but PLENTY of RAIN and more coming. Expect maybe a total of 6 inches yet today.

RSSM is going to be closed for the Christmas holidays from Dec. 22 through to Jan. 6th. I need some time to relax. Actually I'll spend the time trying to clean up around here.[}]

Everyone have a Fun and Safe runup to Christmas in the Train Yard.

32 degrees with dense fog and ICE everywhere and it's still raining. The pine boughs outside my window are heavy with ice.

I probably am going to have to take the Doll in to open the store she runs as her worker called and can't get out of her driveway.

Oatmeal and hot chocolate for me, please.

                  Everyone take it easy today.

                  BE SAFE!!

                    Walt's closing for Christmas?

Sun is out here and Gail is off to the big Jewelry show at the mall. She rents space every year at Christmas and sells her jewelry there. Usually does very well but it can be a crap shoot.

I've got some final touches to do on my kit test build and then finish the instructions.

                    Enjoy

Good morning everybody! All this talk about snow has me feeling cold, but here in south Jersey, there is nothing left but a few little spots here and there. In fact they say its supposed to get up into the 60's here today!

I'm working late today, so I'm going to do a little wrapping of presents and then head downstairs for a short while to get a few things done before heading into work.

                      Have a great day!

Morning everyone. The toast and strawberry jam sure sounds good. It's a bit snowy outside with a couple inches that fell yesterday. Keeping my fingers crossed for a white Christmas.

Well a quiet day here. Meeting a friend for coffee in about an hour. Tonight is my company Christmas party, I have to figure out how to tie a tie again!

                        Everyone have a great day.

Afternoon all! Out and about since this morning, picked up the granddaughter and did some grocery shopping. Stopped at Espresso Royale twice for coffee and hot chocolate...needed to reenergize. Later it's off to Whole Paycheck to drop her off with her Daddy. Colleen will have a wine (whine) while we're there.
