  • Rod Stewart visits the Franklin -and- South Manchester

Well, it had to happen soon or later, I am glad it was sooner, and I am very glad George invited me to come over.

Rod Stewart finally made it to the Franklin & South Manchester RR! What a wonderful afternoon! and what a really nice down to earth guy.

I got the call out of the blue, from George yesterday afternoon, asking me if I had some time this afternoon, so I asked why, he said Rod Stewart was stopping by and why didn't I come over... well, what a great treat!! and what an incredible guy, all he wanted to talk about was building model railroads. For over an hour he was just another serious, vey serious modeler and not a rock star, a real nice guy! and a great afternoon! Wow!

    Thanks George!!!

    Hal

What a great honor for him to visit, he has the same passion for model railroading as George so I'm sure it was a valued visit. Thanks for the pictures Hal!

Hal, thanks for sharing. Two greats in their respective fields...a real treat for sure. I am so impressed with Rod after hearing about how serious he was on late night television really sticking up for the hobby when he was teased about it being for geeks. Good on ya, Hal, Rod and George! [:-apple] [:-apple]

Hal, thank you so much for sharing this visit with us here! This is just super!

So, was Rod Stewart interested more in the individual models or in the layout as a whole?

Did he have a favorite FSM kit or structure?
