    • Thanks Ray,

Well I have gotten a little more work done. I went back and added zip texturing to the Hill. Once that was dry I added foam rocks to the hill... I forgot to take pics when I went back added the hydrocal to the foam to harden the rocks.

        • Thanks Ted,

Its hard to believe that is has been that long. Time just flies.. I am making an effort to get ground cover down this year and then work toward adding permanent buildings. As time permits. I think this way I'll have to keep graphics from piling up on the layout top...

          • Speaking of ground cover.I have been working on the hill between the trestle and the bridge.

I added some static grass and a mixture of scenic express ground covers to the parameter of the area and then a mixture of Scenic Express dead fall and Sheet Moss that I ran through a food processor.

            • I like the ground cover', I use a coffee grinder

to obtain a similar effect with ballast and flock

in O gauge'..I sent you an email about your tree

              and rope'...

              • I have added trees to area and need to add more. I have also taken chalks and colored the rocks.

I used some of the large Blueberry Juniper trees from My modular to fill in the area.

                • Hum, looks like 7 big trees, that should be about 56 hours of work. NICE.

                    • Thanks Guys,

Next I have moved to the creek. I am starting by adding some rock to the creek bed. I have hot glued the foam down and will get ready to coat with the hydrocal....

                      • I was trying to figure out how to slow the curing of the hydrocal and ran across this in a unrelated forum .If you are mixing this up or any plaster mixture you can add a few drops of Lemon juice to the mixture and it will prolong the curing time. I have used this on the homemade sculptamold and on hydrocal just by itself. Just hope my wife does not miss the lemon juice...I continued with the sculptamold and covered the base below the trestle. Before applying the homemade sculptamold i painted the area with white glue to help with the adhesion to the foam with such a thin layer..
