    • Thanks Nate,

I love modeling things. I still have a lot to learn myself.

      • How about some pine needles on the cabin roof?

I used dried leaves from a back yard cypress tree to represent the pine needles. You can find short ones at the tip of the branches.

            • Frank,

I have never actually seen a Cypress tree up close.

I do have just a little on the roof you just can't see it from the pic's I took. There would probably a lot at the angle of the roof.

              • That whole scene is fantastic.

I would think sisal rope would make excellent pine needles too

                • The next thing i am adding to the layout is a General store. I am making this up as I go. No real plans to go by. Just the size I need to fit in the space available. Here is the mock up in foam board.

                          • I have planned on doing a full interior for the building. After looking at a lot of general store pictures I decided on the size shelving i wanted. I made the 4 bottom shelves at 18" and the top 2 at 12". I made one from wood and then made a mold so I could make more. Here are the results.

Here are the shelves with 1:20.3 scale figure and ruler

                              • Thanks,

I found this ruler online. Just have to print it out. You have to make sure that you printer setting are right. It has a 1 inch scale on it to so you can make sure it is right.

I just printed it several times and made me a ruler by gluing it to a piece of 1/32" a/c plywood to make one that is about 20 inches long.
