        Jeff,

She is looking very good! There will be a lot of opportunities for great details on a model like this one.

It\'s a great day whenever steam heads out into the timber!

          Jeff,

What beautiful lines, I could look at them all day. But then I wouldn’t get anything done. I missed her while you were attending to other stuff, good to see you were intimidated to get back to work.

Hopefully you’ll be able to maintain a steady course and speed.

As a former scale model ship builder, I am very impressed with your skill, in this scratchbuild.

            Beautiful choice too!

She is a fine example of the old steamers.

            Lovely lines.

You are capturing her grace wonderfully!

Keep up the good work. She will stand the storms of many a critical eye!

Thank you Carl, Glen, Stu, Frank, and Dave. I apologize for not replying to your comments sooner. It's been two and a half months! I have allowed myself to be distracted by the "Boat and Net Storage" build and I have been remiss.[:-ashamed]

The truth is that I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this one and the reason progress is so slow is I think I am spinning my wheels trying to figure out what to do next. I do appreciate your comments. They give me fuel to carry on. I have made some progress of late and will post some pics soon.

Well... I thought it was going to be a double feature. :erm:

                You fooled me Jeff!

Looks like I fooled you twice, Greg!

I do have a couple pictures to show. Continuing on with my squirrel act I have started on the paddle wheels.

First there are 18 paddles on the wheel so I drew on paper a circle with radii at 20 degree intervals:

Then I made 4 copies, one for each wheel, and taped them to a piece of hardboard:

I then began to glue the spokes of the paddles centering them over the radii of the circle:

                  The result is:

That's all for now. I'll try to post more often than every few months from here on in. [:-captain]

                          • Dang, just as I was pondering the notion of model boats I run into this one. Looking great! Definitely keeping an eye here.

Bitten off more than you can chew? Jeff, you have already done the hard part with the hull!

You are doing a fine job of this and if you give up, it will sit where you can see it and it will haunt you for the rest of your life!
