            • Thanks guys.

I've hit a bit of a stall. As I mentioned in an earlier post I am building this for a club layout. We were notified last week that we have 60 days to vacate the premises. The layout for which I have been building the model will be tore down. I am still planning on completing the model but its home will be changing. I'll keep you posted.

              • Bummer!

I hope the club can find a suitable new home.

                • Thanks, Ray.

We're not sure what we are going to do yet we may break into smaller modular groups of different scales (some are already formed) and meet periodically as a bigger umbrella group if we can't find a suitable space. In the meantime, we will run the trains as long as we can before we have to dismantle the layout. Regardless, I still plan to complete this build and find another home for it, either on my layout or a module. I do plan to put it on the original intended spot on the layout and take some photos before it is taken down.

Moving on, the passenger deck has around 40 windows that have a slight arch at the top. The doors have a matching upper panel as well. Not being able to find suitable commercially available parts I thought I would scratchbuild a master with the plan to make mold and cast the parts, taking a lesson from the Bob Santos school of modelling.

I made two types of doors as well as the window:

Now just 38 more windows to go!

                        • Jeff,

Just catching up. Love the technique for getting the upper deck to fit. I may not have thought of that, so it will be helpful for me one day.

                          Great build.

                          • Thanks Dave, Bob, Ray, and Tony.

Still plugging away here I have begun the window installation:

They are looking a little sloppy. I hope I can clean them up when they are all installed.
