Got the razor saw out again today, cut two busses to make a P-type a.k.a. power coach. It fits nicely over the GP40 frame and looks good combined with the C-type coach IMHO
All parts are held together with tape and need bits(!) of tweeking, but it shows the general look of the coaches.
Did I mention that the left-over bits of bus body appear to be made to perfectly fit over a Davenport ?
Got some green ones here as well, haven;t reallly thought about the color.
The trolley bashes will be rich burgundy & gold, but this lot ???
What I do like about this bash is the way the coaches can be mixed, looking at the pics above I can imagine a second long coach as trailer behind the power coach, you would have to fabricate the underframe but that wouldn't be that difficult. A 'long' powercoach a.k.a. P-type is still a good inch shorter than a B'mann coach and such a combo could run on any short line ...
The railbus comes with an optional (snow)plow in the box, this really makes a big difference, you loose the 'floating' look if you catch my drift. I'll glue a bit of styrene sheet behind the radiator opening and a small piece of strip around the edge, sort of much smaller version of a 'coffin' type of feedwater heater. Think I'll install the bell there and a light on the roof.
