I've finally been able to get the trestle board properly connected to the station and the track laid to connect the two.

That's all the track finished apart from the traverser and that can wait for a bit; now I need to take down the boards to tidy up the wiring underneath and install the point motors. That can wait for a nice Spring day when I can work outside.

Well, Grass Valley is pretty much finished so here is a final selection of pictures. I'll begin a new post when I start work on Cajun Landing rather than add it onto the end of this one.

Looking good Peter. Your scenery looks a bit more like the Pacific Northwest than Nevada County though. Since we have had some sun and of course more rain this spring everything around my home is greener than your scenery. I need to go back over my layout and green it up more.

That's the trouble with being several thousand miles away, Kevin! I suppose I could always move the location, it doesn't really make a lot of difference but I'll probably just accept it as it is. Truth be told, I was probably modelling English scenery and hoping for the best!

Grass Valley looks great! I really love what you did with the creeks- all those stones showing in the creek- that is a nice realistic touch and the backdrops are excellent!

              Hi Peter,

Sorry not able to talk to you and John last weekend at York, you looked a bit busy on Saturday with the layout, are you there next year with Grass Valley. Its come a long way in so short a time, well done, when is its first show.

I am at Sheffield with Purgatory next weekend, so if you want to stretch 495 wheels you can come over and give her a run, we had to cut some of the fiddle yard away so I could run my 492 so K37 and my new K36 is able to run without problems.

              See you soon

It was a busy time at York unfortunately Neil - I would have enjoyed a chat. I'm working next Saturday but if I can get up to see you on Sunday I will, it would be nice to give 495 a run. I'm glad it's not just me that had to do some widening to make room for a K37!
