I was just going through some older issues of the Gazette, late 1980's I think. The fact that Bachmann is responsible for interest in On30 these days was pointed out in an ad for an On30 brass 0-4-2 steamer. Around $875.00 unpainted, $935.oo painted! Think I paid less than $50.00 for my Bachmann model some years ago!

The appeal on on30 is also comradery . The free lance attitude to the modelers is the strength of the group. The wide range of modeling ideas, skills and interests, and the willingness of the On30ers to share and encourage is in itself addicting. The On30 Consolidated System is a good example of this spirit. This forum is also. The many examples I have seen where members pay respect to one another by creating tributes and include them on their respective layouts, exemplifies this. United in our diversity.
      Cheers, Heath.

I guess that IF you really wanted to go down the 'economy' ON3 road then some of the Bachmann On30 models can be converted as per Bob Barlow's articles in the NGSLGazette......
