  • I think this is close to the plan number 2

    Hi Larry,

I do too. I have a program called Scale Print that allows me to print to scale. All I need is one measurement and a straight on view. Your pictures and the stick worked great for scaling these pieces of equipment. Thanks

    • Bill,

      Glad the pictures are helping.

Matt asked for some pictures of the yard track work. It was hard to do as the trains were parked on the good stuff.

        • This should help size the crossing signals, the four foot stick is in the center.

          • I found what looks to be the old show room or company store.

            • Hi Larry,

Thanks for posting the trackage pictures and the brick building etc. According to the RMC article the brick building is the original office building. Look more like a store to me.

              • Bill,

I think store and office are the same thing in this business I went in the new office and it was also the store. I printed out the fast tracks #6 switch template in on30 and it is within a foot in length of the switches on site so if anyone is going to build that is a great starting point.

                    • Good link Larry. Interesting that even back in 1983 they had their hoppers painted in "heritage" colors.

Sure would make an interesting "train" of hoppers with the variety of colors and logos.

Fall is here and the cooler weather has arrived. Time to clear the hobby bench and start some new projects!

I gave my scratchbuilt Plymouth 10 ton loco a coat of gray and listed it on eBay.

                        • Matt,

                          Good luck with the sale.

Here is the track plan for the yard, the switches measured out to within a foot of a #6 switch template on the fast track site.
