  • Afternoon All, did you ever want to just give up? We thought we had a quick sell to this one company for a small profit , but after we tried thier agent we got [:-censored]. We just wanted to get out with a few dollars, but when we went back to do the deal the turkey offeered $40,000 less than the original offer. Now we're stuck with no options at all, so it looks like no railroad for me for who knows how long[:-cry].

    we may just walk away and let the cheatin morgage company have the house. We have tried 3-4 times to get a refinance and they say we should have no problem til we jump through all the hoops , then find some reason to turn us down. Always a different reason.[:-grumpy] I for one am tired of getting lied to, and cheated by people everytime I turn around.

    Excuse the rant , but model railroading is all that has got me through this and right now I can't even do any of that.

    Well you guys have a good afternoon, I'm just setting in my armchair fumming.

            Perhaps the annual Walker Lake submarine races chased it out of its den.[:-captain]

            • Geezer;

              Please forgive my ignorance, but what is "Walker Lake Willie" exactly? It sort of looks like an alligator, but it looks to have furry ears....I admit I am confused as to what it is.

                Perhaps Wally is a giant mudpuppy.

                    • Looks like a part of the grassy shore broke loose but who knows maybe it is the monster in question.

                      • [:-angel][:-angel] [:-bouncy] [:-shake][:-shake].....LOL!!! What a bunch!!!

                        Greg, Larry (Big Lars) is closest to the truth....Acutally it is a floating "island" up from the bottom. Every year, this clump of vegetation and lake bottom rises to the surface in nearly the exact same spot. My guess is that it is caused by air trapped beneath that is provided by one of the many springs in the lake....damifino!!!!!

                        But, I'll pass the box of c-gars to Larry for his wild guess.... :up:

                            Bill you could not fool me. I knew it was Ogopogo or Naitaka "lake demon"

                            Have a great day .....

                            • Some big gators over there....evening all, just out of the WS but some modifications made on the grassmaster. Added some thin coppre from the bottom of the cup to the metal gauze at the front. This works great, grasses stand up like crazy...finish my cup of coffee and go to the WS to clean it out....

                              Have a great day / evening..

                              • Hi Guys

                                I am still around and have been stopping by the lounge every week or so to see who is hanging out. The news here is that the CR&T is in the process of being sold. We have decided to sell and move to western Wisconsin, closer to Carol's family and our kids and grandkids. I don't think the new owners want the CR&T, so it will have to be shut down and dismantled. All the rolling stock will be moved in hopes of starting another railroad in the future, but now all the effort is fixing up and selling this place. Then buying and fixing up a new Old house in Saint Croix Falls, WI. I will continue to stop by once in a while to see how you all are doing. It is good to see all the familiar faces and hear what you all are doing.

                                Take care all

                                Jim
