Chris, thanks for sharing this great train trip between Rico and Ridgeway.

    Bill's layout is really amazing.

I found interesting to see the helpers cross the trestle 45-A running backwards to Rico after their helping job is over. Was it a standard practice to have machines make quite a number of miles this way on the RGS? I guess yes because there were not many turning facilities (I don't remember any in fact, between Ridgeway and Rico), but it must have been a strange feeling to run through the line backwards.

And yes, it's a bit puzzling to see trains going from Rico to Ridgeway cross Ophir in this direction. I suppose having the line mirrored better fit Bill's space.

Again, thanks, it's really a nice time you've given us.

    Chris,

I think a lot of guys would enjoy a 'how-to' on how to upload a video to You Tube. That is a very long video. I assume you used some type of compression software?

I stopped over from the HOn30/HOn3 Forum to take a peek, Chirs.

A very nice video of some great modeling and operations.

Bill Scobie's Rio Grande Southern Sn3 Layout is featured. The run starts with the (RGS) Stock Train leaving the pens at Rico with a train load of sheep. Then it traverses the layout with three helpers working up grade through Butterfly and Ophir to Trout Lake. The stock train meets a Way Freight at Ophir Siding. After crossing several trestles, the train enters Trout Lake and the helpers are then cut off the train, It then continues down grade through Vance Junction, Vanadium, Falls Creek,Placerville, Brown to Ridgeway. At Ridgeway, the train switches to interchange with the Denver and Rio Grande Western (D&RGW). From there the D&RGW power leads the train out of town, taking the stock cars full of (Baa Baa Baa) sheep to Montrose.
