    Hi Dave,

Here's a shot of the flanger blade from the bottom. I don't remember exactly how I made it except it's scrap styrene with very little detail.

    Hope this helps,

Agreed, you'll probably need one or two

The blade is scratch-built with styrene. It's double sided and looks like a stretched diamond from the bottom. I'll try and take a picture next time the camera is out.

    Thanks gentlemen,

Dave, it's scratch-built using a European 4-wheel underframe, there's some more information about it on page two of this thread. It's loosely based on a SR&RL prototype.

What's the origin of that flanger? Was it a kit, kitbash or scratchbuilt?

Though I don't have a layout at the moment I'm still building rolling stock for my SR&N.

The newest is a gondola I've just sprayed with primer:

It's kinda minimally detailed, I may add some bits at some point but I'm enjoying getting some colour so to projects that have been sitting around for years. It's sitting on a Chivers Finelines underframe with narrowed HOn3 trucks and Micro-Trains N scale 36" wheels. The stakes and pockets are cut down Grandt Line parts.

Finally got some lettering on my SR&N flanger:

    Still needs a stack though...

    Thanks for looking!

Other way, the founders of the line thought they could make it to New Jersey.

    Cody,

Glad to see you are modeling / posting again. Will there be a tunnel to Nfld. or a ferry? Kidding

    Howdy Folks,

I posted this in the HOn30/HOn3 lounge but thought I'd add it to this tread too for completeness sake:

My latest piece of rolling stock for my fictional Saco River & Newfoundland:

It's a 24' Dyer built boxcar assembled from a Mount Blue Models kit. It assembled nicely with a few modifications (scale height couplers) and mistakes (end ladders mounted too high). It's also the first boxcar I've built with interior detail and open doors. I'll eventually add some kind of sparse load to hide the weights over the trucks, though you can't really see them much from normal viewing angles... And a bit of weathering someday as well.

    Greetings Folks,

Here's the latest round of bits that are getting worked on for the SR&N.

First, not much of an update, but I finally added roofwalks to my Steven's Creek Models Monson 26' boxcar and converted Grandt Line reefer:

I've also grabbed the tank from a Classic Miniatures HOn3 kit and scratchbuilt a narrower HOn30 frame for it:

My tool car is nearing completion, just needs brake wheel and lettering:

Finally, this is how I install McHenry couplers on my HOn30 stock:

They don't get along well with Micro Trains couplers but work well with eachother. I think I will be converting all my rolling stock to these because I really like the narrower cross section on the draft gear. I think it looks way better than the big plastic coupler boxes on Micro Trains couplers...

    Comments and criticisms always welcome!

Thanks Jeff, I've got a handful more in the works and a few unstarted kits that just arrived from Mount Blue, including their SR&RL caboose, which I'm looking forward to.

Hi T.C., I'll try and put together a step by step next time I convert a pair. Pretty much all I did was cut off the ends of the bolster slide the sideframes on and stuff a piece of channel underneath. The whole thing is held together with crazy-glue.
