  • Thanks Mike
I have continued on the boiler house or shed as it is more appropriate to call it. I have made a coal bin for it and the roof rafters are in place.
As the line shaft protrudes through the Roundhouse wall a pulley and belt will take the power from the steam engine to the machinery inside. It will be fiddly to mount the belt as I need to do it with the shed and wall attached to the Roundhouse.

    To be continued..

The boiler shed adds another level of fine detail!

                              • Hi Guys
I hope the holidays has been good!

There has been some progress on the Roundhouse and I have started to place it in on the layout. Thats when I realised that I have made a mistake at the drawing board
I draw the Roundhouse to have straight track from the turntable but somewhere along the line I got the angles somewhat wrong and now when placing it as I planned all the tracks need to curve before they reach the turntable. My question is if this is prototypical and if it was used in real life?
I can move the Roundhouse further away from turntable but then it will be awfully close to the background and track.
                                Here are some photos.
These first three shows the Roundhouse placed as originally intended but with curved approach tracks

These three shows it moved farther away from the turntable with straight approach tracks.

                                What do you think?
