    I like the brown trim, and now the pink on the gable looks better.

    Regarding the sash, it was typical back then to paint it a dark color to make the window recede visually and give a more 3-d appearance.

    In any case, I think you are heading in the right direction.

      Thanks Mike!

      I made another side with the variant of the original paintscheme. And finished off the other one with some weathering and highlights. I painted the sash a grey instead of back as it pops out better. Although prototypical it looks weird on the building and hard to see from a distance as the building will be about 24” from the viewer.
      I now like them both so I’ll paint another building with the other scheme

            I haven't been visiting lately, sorry for the delay. Better late than never.
            I went back a few pages, and you have done some excellent work.

            I like the Bar Mill water tower. Looks really nice with the colors you have chosen.
            I will be following more closely for some great tips, thanks for sharing.

                Thanks Guys for the input and kind words! Time flies and I haven’t been home for a week but when back home I’ll post some photos of the finished building.

                Great to hear from you Rich! The Bar Mills tower was great fun and a easy build with the cast parts doing most of the work.

                  Here are photos of the nearly finished building. I used yellow ochre for the trim. Gave a lighter and nice contrast to the other colors I think.

                    I like the colors. You did a fine job on that house; it looks real.

                    Our own house in real life is red, and at one time we used ochre on the trim around the eaves like you did. It's a truly old-fashioned color that was painted on a lot of houses and commercial buildings.

                              Håkan, I decided to review your tread tonight. I was looking for scenery ideas and suggestion on passenger cars colors. What a fun review it was. I've forgotten how good of a backdrop painter you are. Your lake has reflections in it! You have accomplished so much over the years.

                                Thanks Bob! I don't feel like a good background painter. It is mostly thanks to Darryl Huffman and Bob Ross

                                Its been awhile since I posted so I thought I make a little update. I have worked on the last piece of the layout mostly building structures and houses for the harbour. I'm also making the last large trestle but ran out of NBW castings so I have an order for more from San Juan.

                                Here are some photos of the latest builds, a General store made from a kit and a scratchbuilt newspaper. I made some simple interiors for the buildings so they doesn't look so barren when the lights are on.






                                Those who know their Lovecraft can probably guess what story and movie the name comes from on the General store.
                                Well the newspaper proprietor is also somewhat connected to Lovecraft

                                Sorry about the bad cell phone photos. I just saw that much is out of focus. I'll post better photos later with my camera.
